Help us soar.

The disease of addiction has grown to epic proportions during the pandemic and is often exacerbated by co-occurring mental illness.

HMTX Cares has partnered with several addiction, rehabilitation & mental health organizations in New York, Connecticut, Georgia and North Carolina. We are committed to raising a fully tax deductible $1 million in donations to provide scholarships for 125 families.

That could save 125 lives and 125 families.

Recovery. Prevention.

Education. Treatment.

  • PROVIDING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT & MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

Treating addiction and mental health is a journey that goes far beyond simply stopping the use of drugs and alcohol. For a successful, long-term recovery, it is important to heal the mind, body, and spirit, as well as the disease of addiction itself. This includes paying special attention to nutrition, exercise, mental health, emotional well-being, behavior, and more.

At The Blanchard Institute, we use an integrative health treatment model in all our addiction recovery and substance use disorder treatment programs, taking a holistic approach to addiction recovery that helps to treat not only the disease, but also the underlying physical, mental, and emotional factors that contribute to it. We feature a wide range of outpatient addiction mental illness treatment services, as well as a dedicated team of caring professionals that are committed to helping our clients through every step of the treatment process. We have treatment facilities located in Lake Norman and in Charlotte, North Carolina, and we serve patients from across the state.

  • HMTX Cares has found a formidable ally in the battle against co-occurring mental illness and addiction in the National Alliance on Mental Illness, widely known as NAMI: the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.5 million U.S. adults experienced both mental illness and a substance use disorder in 2019. According to NAMI, 10.9%-11.9% of U.S. adults with mental illness had no insurance coverage in 2019; 55% of U.S. counties do not have a single practicing psychiatrist; and even for those with health insurance, most psychiatrists are out of network, requiring expensive and extensive out of pocket payments.

  • The mission of the Davis Direction Foundation is to fight addiction and fuel recovery while serving as a role model in the community in order to become a national resource for opioid/heroin addiction awareness and change.

When you support the Davis Direction Foundation, you’re supporting an organization whose impact has already extended far beyond a local community. We reach across demographic, geographic, and political boundaries to effect real change. We’re an apolitical organization by design. For us, it’s not about addiction – it's about recovery.

The Zone is an extension of the Davis Direction Foundation’s nonprofit corporation, that is led and governed by people in recovery, family members, friends, and allies. It is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) that mobilizes resources within and outside of the recovery community to make it possible for the recovery population to find long-term recovery. Each organization has a mission that reflects the issues and concerns of its community. All RCOs share three core principles – recovery vision; authenticity of voice; and accountability to the recovery community.

Its leaders and members have a singular goal: enhancing the quantity and quality of support available to people seeking and experiencing long-term recovery from addiction. The focus is on the solution, not a particular service or model of care. We meet people where they are and support all pathways to recovery. We are a member of the Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO) and working toward National Certification.

Alumni have come from Florida, California, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona and as far away as Canada, Australia, Mexico, Germany, Guatemala, El Salvador, India, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

  • The Center for Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CCDBT) is one of the longest standing, fully adherent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) programs in the country. CCDBT has been providing empirically validated, compassionate therapy services to adolescents, families, and adults since 1999.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a unique, specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that was originally developed to treat adults who were chronically suicidal and self-injuring. It has been expanded to address clients who more generally exhibit symptoms of emotion dysregulation. DBT is now also being utilized for treatment of adolescents who engage in impulsive, self-injuring or suicidal behavior, and who exhibit emotion dysregulation. CCDBT has a Comprehensive Adult DBT Program and a Comprehensive Adolescent and Family DBT Program.

DBT Skills Group Training focuses on helping patients develop the coping skills they need to solve their own problems and achieve their desired goals. In our DBT Adolescent and Family program, parents attend all DBT Skills groups with their teens to help parents communicate more effectively with their teens, to learn how to coach their teens in using skills when problems arise, and to develop their own coping skills.
